Great appearance Nick. Well done.
Thanks for watching and for your comment Mike, I know Nick will appreciate it
I think the Corrs album I enjoy the most is Home, a collection of traditional tunes. Their version of My Lagan Love is stunning.
Home is a wonderful album, Richard, I’d love that to get a vinyl release, though I’d like ALL The Corrs albums to come out on vinyl even though I own them all on MD or CD!
Any itv chart shows again or top of the pops
Nothing planned for the immediate future but I’m keeping a look out for more
Looks like what imperialist western governments do to the average voter in my opinion
Got any top of the pops or itv charts shows again ask Jimmy let loose crazy for you. 1993 may 1994 let loose seventean song
I've been listening to this rammstein for 20 years. Never new there was an English version to this song.
There’s also an English version of Engel, I dubbed it over the video like I did with this one but RUclips made me remove it years ago. There’ll no doubt be some other way to hear it on here
I actually owned the top 2, I think I’d have them the other way round but that’s just me. I need to revisit Cast sometime, just when? Who knows
They’re worth revisiting any time for me. It was a close call between the top 2 but I bought MNC the week it came out so there’s just an extra layer of fondness there
@@JimmyBarnesYT I think we've talked about this before, in one of your livestreams, but any album that has Guiding Star on it is going to be looked upon favourably by myself too. I just love that song.
Bros before hoes
Before playing, I did wonder just how far down the list the utterly woeful Beet Root would place. I was not disappointed.
It had to be bottom, I don’t hate the album but it’s their worst by far
@@JimmyBarnesYT I don't *hate* it either but I do regret purchasing the Edsel Deluxe Edition CD a few years back, after skipping it on it's original release back in the day. I think that there's only two songs on it that I can listen to without hitting the track skip button.
I’ve never Hurd off cast so I enjoyed this
I dread to think what you were doing in the 1990s
You hate me to say that I did not obey is my favorite part
You've never seen the film, what??!!! Ok it is a work of its time and the director isn't my favourite to say the least, but it does have some great scenes. The opening scene is a work of art I feel and it had many innovations for its time. Loved it as a kid, and the rest as they say is history. I just missed out on the Tommy half speed and haven't had the spare cash since. And what does he pull out next!! The other half speed I cant afford!! You m me will have to do a joint critique of the film, there's a video idea for you, it must happen ok. Great clip. Pete talks of the sheer frustration that had built up prior to that TOTP appearance.
Now I do like that idea of a joint review: a longtime Who fan and a newbie watching it for the first time… maybe we could do it “as live” over Zoom or one of the streamers and then I’ll make any necessary edits afterwards. Needs some thought with the logistics of it but in principle I’m up for it!
An ok episode. I have heard the Little Angels song but probably not since it was released. That world Party song I quite like, Rods ok in small doses but not fond of this one. Living on the Edge is a fine tune. I like the Beloved but this is a bit weak. I rthink i still ahve that gimme shelter cd. Yu can have it if you want. Le loose were dreadful They 'performed' at some road show thing and were handing out autographs, They tried to hand me one and I said no. They did not look best pleased. Indy chart was ok but nothing spectacular. Still love the soup dragon's song. Baggy at it's best. Junior Reid also collaborated with coldcut on stop this crazy thing. Great track from REM and love the video. Jade song is ok, but definitely channelling Soul II Soul there. Sybil is ok, but pretty sure she did better songs. I feel the same about the sub sub sing. Not sure it's aged well though. An ok number one but overplayed. yeah an ok episode, but nothing that made me want o jump out of my chair. I do enjoy watching these along with you though mate,
I’d never say I was anything close to being a Let Loose fan but I’ve always been fond of Crazy For You. Trust you to be rude to the poor lads 😂 Yeah I’ll have that Gimme Shelter CD off you if you don’t want it Sharto 👍🏼
@@JimmyBarnesYT I could have told them to f-off!
Classic tune. Good job by you both. Only thing I found is the tune drowned out your lovely vocals somewhat.
That’s because it’s hard to gauge what the volume adjustment should be when it’s processing, especially with cans on as it sounds so different to without. It’s a lottery really whether I get it bang on or miss the mark
Just love watching these brings back good times
Absolutely, not a care in the world really compared to now
Thanks for the reaction Jimmy this was a good edition. Shame I had to edit out New Order & hopefully I’ll try to upload some more 93 editions soon.
Appreciate your assistance James!
I picked up Bang by World Party in a charity shop last year and I have to say it is a brilliant album. Karl Wallinger was such an underrated songwriter/musician. RIP.
I’ve never investigated World Party, perhaps I’ll have to rectify that 👍🏼
Thanks (once again) for the shoutout Jimmy. The Beloved debut album 'Where It Is' (1987) was, as you say, Indie/new wave guitar (6string bass) quartet who then halved into an alt dance band/duo. Later on I think it was just down to Jon Marsh. It was essentially a compilation (and is listed as so on discogs). I personally feel its an Indie classic collectable. That jimmy sommerville track is probably listed by the Hauge as a crime against humanity!
You seem to be getting more publicity on this channel recently than your own! I quite liked the Somerville/VOTB cover but I can understand why it may be considered somewhat Marmite 😄
I enjoyed this jimbo
Thank you Lord, now share your chocolate
@@JimmyBarnesYT 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lovely stuff Jimbles
Thank you Tartlet, even I couldn’t do too much damage to a sub-two and a half minute song
I do like UB40. Not many white blokes that can pull of the reggae style with any form of authenticity., I don't know many songs on that one to be honest but I'm sure it's pretty good.
If you were to dip your toe into UB40 this isn’t a bad one to start with really, though ultimately I’d recommend starting with one of their many compilations
@@JimmyBarnesYT yeah i tend to buy best of's on cd.I like a lot of their singles but I'd like to have at least one studio album by them on vinyl.
Ah should have known you would pick this up. That's a fantastic price really, especially when you consider you can pay just a little less than that for one album never mend 4!
This was a brilliant bargain, and I’m pleased to say it’s an excellent live set too, plenty of my favourites from their glory years played here
Not a single “episode”, this series isn’t what it could be 😂
You don’t even understand the mental gymnastics I have to perform to stop myself saying it during these 😂
UB40 I am the one in ten song you know that one UB40 Elvis cover UB40 can't help fall in love 1993
UB40 I am the one in ten you got any itv chart shows or top of the pops soon ask
Chart Show reaction is coming in a few days time Daniel
What a mixed bag! Some good choices there. although some seem a bit ropeey 😁 Glad to see you filing more gaps.
The trouble with me filming these weeks back is I’m now struggling to remember everything I showed in this video 😂 Ropey, the cheek!
Absolutly loved this album. I had it on cassette. All the originals were amazing but UB40 found a way to make them even better 👍
I know youre a big reggae fan Bealey 👍🏼 This is an excellent album, and I agree UB40 were great and covering older songs and turning them into something different
@@JimmyBarnesYT I've been a fan since I was a kid. Do you know which labour of love album the song Higher Ground was on?
@UKRandom78 that wasn’t on a Labour of Love, it was on Promises & Lies 👍🏼
@@JimmyBarnesYT I'm going to have to raid the loft and try to find all my old albums 👊
This was so side splittingly funny! Dancing Queen below The Floral Dance & Don't Give Up on Us, hahaha (still laughing!). I would have placed it in "A" with the only two "C"'s being Mull of Kintyre & Bohemian Rhapsody.
If it was up to me Dancing Queen wouldn’t have been that low, Richard 😂
Nice buy, Jimmy. Came close to getting this myself, but was very expensive. I got the Goats Head Soup, which came with Brussels Live from ‘73… which is killer. I’d rather have this on black than colour. Cheers, Jack
Hiya Jack, I love GHS, a live album from that period would be great no doubt. I do like colour vinyl but ultimately it’s about the music and this was such a big discount I couldn’t pass it up!
Cracking Up from Mocambo, peerless.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏼
Love a bit off stones and love hearing your mum 😂😂
I’ve broken new ground here today, combining an unboxing with a plate of egg and chips
Pulp would be a favourite from a musical standpoint but I think that Banarama disc is the standout from the EPISODE
You’ll be pleased to know I’ve filmed a few Minidisc Mondays in advance and I say “episode” in a couple of them. Why fight it, eh? 😂
Really good idea for a video. Unfortunately i have only a few gigs on record and they are all official. Also i;ve been too so many that I can't really remember what they played or when,
I don’t think anyone is really intending to take this up as a thread response, just seemed the polite thing to mention it in case anyone did fancy it
Rammstein I take it? Not a fan of whistling as most is tuneless noise. Rest of the song was quite cool though. Youd did a good job on the accent! Lol.
This was the first time I’ve ever “cheated” during a Smule, as I had an iPad open below the phone camera with the English lyric translation 😄 I’ll get booted out of the R+ community for that!
@@JimmyBarnesYT Ha ha. It's fine mate, It was nice to be able to understand the song.
Not one for me. I do agree that George's sp;p stuff was a lot better than anything wham ever did.
I can tolerate Wham a little more these days but I still largely dislike them
Playing with dolls 🤦♂️ ffs
I’m just young at heart Gorilla 😇
You minger! Ray is the Man! How dare a child like you go on Rachel’s shit show and disparage the man! It’s on !
I only just saw this comment, calm down dear! 😂
'Hotspot' sounds incredibly dated for 2020! - it could have been made in the late 90's. I also agree with 'Release', and 'Nightlife' being ranked so low. The former ('Release') sounds like PSB's trying to cover Oasis tracks or writing Oasis-style pastiche songs. While 'Nightlife' sounds like genetic late 90's dance music - you wouldn't know it was the PSB's without Neil's vocals. These two albums are pretty forgettable tbh. Not worth bothering with - only really hardcore PSB fans will see anything in either album. While 'Hotspot' doesn't say anything unique or different, it just sounds like it was recorded 20 years earlier and then forgotten about. Another PSB's album not worth listening to in full, in imo.
I must admit I think I’ve only listened to Hotspot twice, oddly enough! Thanks for watching
So just to clarify I was at all three 83/84/86 gigs but only found the bootlegs (online) for the first two. The only one I bought was before the 84 gig, a tape from the Birmingham gig just prior to it. For my 86 Poole gig setlist I used various other bootleg recording around the same time (march86 mostly) to give a feel for how they were preforming at the time. I even used the Gmex for the 86 Temptation so we overlapped there. Great idea if people want to continue this as a setlist thread that it doesn't have to be New Order. I didn't set any rules but how about a guide of: Show three setlists of a band you love, Ideally attending 1 or more of those, From a period in time or points in time. I guess the idea is to show how there were at that period in time or over time and some nice nostalgia of what you experienced and remembered etc.
I had to take a few hours to come to terms with being in a video thumbnail together with New Order let alone a Jimmy Barnes Thumbnail! fame and recognition at long last haha!! ''A vital part of the vinyl community'' made me spill my coffee and laugh out loud, not sure how that's going to go down but many thanks 🤣. Also my first ever thread response so many thanks indeed. State of the Nation was indeed added to the CD but not sure about later pressings of Brotherhood. Very interesting 86 GMex setlist and Ian McCulloch appearance. It puts me in mind of The Cure doing Love will tear us apart! I had a quick listen to some of the Reading 93 and Hooky's base on Round and Round is amazing. I remember in his book Hooky said how he hated the title of 'World' and that he even hated the brackets!! I agree its underrated and great video as well. Taped from the mixing desk says alot about bootleg security in those days!! But sounds good. The Das Rheingold Vorspiel was played last year with the slow motion video of the slow motion divers in mid air but I know they have used various bits of intro music over the years (good idea for a video 🤔). I am quite envious of the 2015 setlist, its a great list but of course missing Hooky. Its so good to be able to say 'I was there' and listen to a crowd knowing you were in it. Great Job Jimmy 👍
PS I'll add another comment in a mo
Really enjoyed doing this set list/bootleg video Stevie, thank you for the inspiration. You’re vital in my book mate! 😄 The Cure did LWTUA??… I suppose it can’t be any worse than Paul Young covering it!
The only 2 New Order singles I have are Blue Monday (without the die-cut and the labels are the wrong way round) and Thieves Like Us, both on 12". I also have the double best of Joy Divisiion / New Order on vinyl. Disc 1 is great while disc 2 gets a bit too dancey for me. I don't have it stored in a gatefold protector as I only have one, which I've noticed you keep reminding the world about lol.
Hahaha sorry Richard, I think I need to start ribbing Stevie about that aswell as he was enquiring about my protectors during the RTO stream last night
Blue Monday,True Faith & World In Motion, is all I know by New Order
Nick, you should watch Iain's stream on a Thursday night. 50% is about New Order, 30% about Siouxsie & the Banshees and the remaining 20% about Marillion lol.
Oh you’re missing out Nick 😮 Nothing wrong with 50% New Order Richard! 😄
Theres alot more to be had, for a man of your integrity 😜
@@CookieMusic43 Richard, come on, New Order isn't mandatory, although I guess Siouxsie & the Banshees kind of is,...but Marillion definitely isn't..I think. 🤷♂
@@CookieMusic43 Rather harsh Richard 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Enjoyed the music but not the singing I was head banging away love it
I’ll consider that one for the win column Lord
Strangest 4 minutes of my day, but also 4 of the most enjoyable 🤷🏻♂️
Four minutes spent witnessing me sing (a bit of) German can’t be anything but time well spent surely
Sounds more badass in German
Pretty sure i did say I liked 24 hr. Best film ever,? Not in my eyes but certainly glad I watched it. Shame I'm not not these bands as much as you as they do sound like good watches. Wish they had done more stuff like this for bands I'm into.
Well I didn’t think for one moment you’d think it is the best film ever, that would require you to acquire a modicum of good taste 😌
What can't he vouch for the authenticity of it being a live broadcast?
Mouldy Old Dough is the Anthem Of Banger Racing. 🏁🏁🏁. Every time that green flag goes and Mouldy Old Dough plays all hell breaks loose
Very impressive collection of DVDs. I like 24hr Party people as well. The only ones I have are Control, 24hr and I used to have the VHS of Pumped full of Drugs for some reason. I don't remember it being that great but then again neither was my vhs player!
PFD is a decent enough gig, high quality filming and production certainly, just comes across as somewhat muted and awkward due to the setting and audience. Besides, I’m STILL waiting for you to email me Stevie, then I can send it you! 🤔
Pretty much all I'm getting now, I have had a recent dalliance picking up a few back to the future I'm missing but really I'm thinking of shifting a lot of the funkos I have still, nice to see a couple of new funkos
I’ve sold a fair chunk of my collection over the last year or so, and I think there’s still more that will have to go
